West's second novel in the POW/MIA Truth Series challenges readers to question everything they have been told about the Vietnam War, including the lie that "everyone came home."

Nine years after his son went missing in Vietnam, Walter Greene's mind is tormented by the unknown What happened to his boy? And why did the Department of Defense unexpectedly change his status from missing in action to killed in action without supporting evidence of death?.

Having recently come across secret information that indicates PFC Thomas Greene might have been abandoned in Vietnam, he is confronted by a government operative who warns against digging into his son's disappearance.

In the meantime, strange and unexplainable things have begun to happen flashing lights at the harbor, ghostly footsteps in his house, and the sound of a piano late at night. When a stranger shows up claiming to have proof his son is alive, Greene enters into a treacherous game of cat and mouse.

But what is real? And what lives inside Walter Greene's imagination?

Some Never Forget A POW/MIA Truth Novel R Cyril West 9780989539623 Books

Some never forget is a finely crafted insight into the mind of a man tortured by the reported loss of his son in Vietnam. Walter Greene, after years of trying to unravel the truth of his son's disappearance in the jungles of Vietnam, is finally driven to the point where his sanity is on a razor's edge. Did his son die or, as secret government documents seem to indicate, did he survive the war and was perhaps still alive? Is the "government man" who seems to turn up at critical moments an assassin from a secretive society or merely a figment of his imagination? We follow Greene as he seems to waver between reality and what......madness? A fascinating tale, well told, leading to a real twist of an ending.

There are a number of us who still believe that our countrymen were left behind in Vietnam and this fact has been covered up by the very people we count on to tell us the truth. Nixon and Kissinger promised the North Vietnamese four billion dollars in reparations after the war, but before he could deliver, Watergate removed him from the scene. Were these men held as hostages to that payment? There have been sightings of French prisoners from Dien Bien Phu long after the first Vietnam War ended, why should we believe that the Vietnamese didn't do the same to our men?

I applaud R. Cyril West for keeping this issue alive. It's important, and is largely forgotten by Americans with criminally short attention spans. This is a fine book, and I would recommend it highly.

Some Never Forget A POW/MIA Truth Novel R Cyril West 9780989539623 Books Reviews

This book really got me thinking about those left behind. Great read, and kudos to the author for writing about something of substance.
A suspenseful novel about a father who is being lied to by the government about his missing son. Lots of little plot twists (a bank robbery, ghosts, schizophrenia, love story) made it fascinating. I liked the Native American mysticism parts of the story. This would make a great movie!
Another great story about all the dishonorable things the US government has done to our young men and women who have fought in horrendous wars in the name of freedom.
Excellent book, the characters are well developed and easy to know. I personally do believe that some were left behind and sadly have been abandoned. The story really hit points I firmly do believe. I would highly recommend this book.
I focus on reading non-fiction history books. Up to this point, I have not read a fiction book in over 20 years. When I read the reviews about "Some Never Forget" and the author Mr. West, I decided to try fiction again. I was very impressed and could not put the book down until I finished. I was so impressed that I ordered book 1, The Thin Wall". Thank you!
Hitchcock would be proud. This novel keeps you going back to the first page to remind you it's fiction. Intriguing story that makes you wonder can it be true? I felt anguish for those families who lost loved ones in Vietnam. Good read to the very end.
One of the more interesting books I’ve read in recent years. Also an easy read ) I’ve always heard the rumors that soldiers were left behind in Vietnam and this book certainly left me believing it’s true. What I liked mpost about Some Never Forget was the characters. I liked how the author put me inside the head of the loveable, yet crazy lunatic? father whose son is missing in Vietnam. Walter hates the government and thinks they are lying to him about his son being killed in battle. I couldn’t stop reading because it was so fascinating to watch him slip further and further into his madness. The woman character named Alex was a surprising piece of the book. I wasn’t expecting a second story (let alone a love story) that would eventually collide with the main plot. I liked the romance she had with the father’s son before he went away to Vietnam, and how her life was destroyed by a love that was taken away by the tragedy of war. And I was caught off guard with what happens to her in the end!! Best of all was about 3/4 of the way through the book when I realized that things weren’t what they seemed. And then the ending plot twist caught me by surprise. It just got creepier and creepier! Lots of questions for me at end of the book. Normally I don’t like stories that end this way. It works here, however. So I am left wondering, is the father crazy? Did he imagine everything? This might be a book for psychology students to study. I plan to read it again to see what I missed.
